Wendy's Friends
Wendy is a Cactus Wren
Earl the rock squirrel
Is her friend.
Their home is the desert,
Where it does not rain much.
In this valley of the sun,
Below the mountain peaks,
Is where she has her fun.
Such sweet treats,
Under rocks and by trees.
Ants and beetles is what she eats.
She lives on top of a Sagurao.
High above, near the sky,
She tells the earth her goodbyes.
In the air, the world below,
Nate the Rattlesnake lies low.
Chasing Kangaroo rats,
And warming his body by day,
Cold blooded by nature,
This is his way.
Leon the Mountain Lion lives nearby,
Wendy can see him as she flies.
Many animals call the desert home,
It is where the Mule deers roams.
Tubby the Desert Tortoise takes his time.
Sammy the Antelope Squirrel will climb.
Spike the Bark Scorpion will hide and wait.
As Faye the Gray Fox stays up late.
Bowie the Great Horned Owl is there too.
The sky at night is a wonderful view.
