Self-Image

Paul is not afraid of take responsibility and be fully accountable for his words and deeds. His sense of pride compels him to do his best, always. He wants others to see him in the best possible light. Creating balance in his life requires knowing him to say “no” and when to be compliant. Paul appears to have learned this lesson. Having cultivated maturity and a harmonious personal rhythm, Paul has worked hard to attain a reasonable level of self-control and personal devilment-hallmarks of a balanced personality. He does not all his emotion to control him, but keeps a tight reign over them. Moderate and cooperative, Paul asserts himself only if he is in danger of being taken advantage of. He prefers cooperative relationships. Although Paul does not expend much effort drawing attention to himself, he does not shun it when it comes to him.

Inner Drives

Reality is something that Paul uses as a vehicle to achieve a desired end. He is not tied down to what others think is the proper thing to do. Taking a running jump into new projects and activities, his ambitions grow and gather speed as he progresses. Although he likes to get others’ opinions on some matter, he wants everyone to see him as independent and fully autonomous. His primary focus is on more than just material gain. Money and possession mean less to him than looking successful. Paul has the strength of his convictions to see him through. However, he also has enough flexibility to change his course of action if it is not bringing him the results he seeks. He is open-handed to a point, but knows when it is time to turn off the supply. He is content to accept things the way they always have been and will not go out of his way to create something new and different. Yet, Paul is willing to listen to a new idea if someone drops it in his lap.

Intellectual Style

Paul deals with the facts straightforwardly. He is able to come to a rational conclusion based upon the available information. His strong analytical ability and exploratory mind are behind great “moving and shaking” in his environment. His intuition allows him to think in whole concepts, rather than in a systematic order. He is not a dreamer, but neither is he so much a pragmatist that he has pragmatist that he has no imagination. His interests are not limited to physical pursuits. He seeks out mental activates and his intellectual stamina keeps him plugging away until a project is complete. Even when he has strong feelings about a controversial matter, he does his best to stay neutral.

Social Style

Playfulness of light-hearted humor rarely punctuates his serious attitude. When he makes a commitment, you can expect him to take it seriously. Although he is flexible in many areas, he does not bend his basic principles or standards. He mostly stays within conventional boundaries, but may occasionally stick his neck out and try something different. He respects the privacy of others and demands the same of his friends. For him, quality of friendships definitely takes precedence over quantity. Balking at dealing with a conflict or problem directly, he is likely to sidestep the issue and attempt to divert the other person’s attention to something less stressful. He jumps from one thing to another with a minimum of stress. Flexible and ready to adapt, he has no trouble making adjustments.

Emotional Responses

Unfamiliar situations leave him feeling upset and anxious. His conservative values sometimes make it hard for him to accept changes in the environment. His concern for others, while strong, is not carried to extremes. He tempers his sensitivity with restraint. When Paul is feeling down and depressed, afraid that his hopes and dreams are not going to materialize, he is apt to engage in positive self-talk. He tells himself that tomorrow is another day and things are bound to get better. Moderately excited about life overall, he goes about his daily tasks with an upbeat attitude.

Work Style

His energy and enthusiasm are contagious. As a leader he has the ability to inspire and motivate others, bringing out the best in them. He works hard at working hard, and will not let up his efforts until the assignment is complete. He approaches his daily chores and responsivities with care, talking whatever time they require to handle matter to his satisfaction. Not the type to engage in endless discussions, he is quick to invite everyone to pitch in and make a contribution. He is diligent in pursuing his goals, even when they are not as interesting as the thought they would be. He prefers dealing in concrete fact, and does not readily accept abstract ideas about events that might or might not happen at some future time. However, that does not mean he is closed to progress. He is inclined to do what is asked of him it does interfere too much with his own needs. Paul is independent enough to be left alone with a project once he knows what is expected of him. Although he has a moderate degree or initiative, Paul does not take the first step without checking the response of the environment.

Red Flags

Always on the alert for danger. Paul has a “me against them” way of looking at the world. One questions why Paul has such a strong need for secrecy. As the saying goes, “You have to wonder what he's up to!” By stating his opinion as fact Paul may often put himself at the center of a disagreement.
