I ordered Razz’s Chicken Scaloppini ($23.95) and their Onion Soup ($11.25). For dessert I had their Triple Chocolate Torte ($8).

Bread

The complementary French bread that was served at our table was warm and filling with the average taste and flavor one would expect, but it was not presentable in its appearance for in was squashed like it was flatten with a large pan. restaurants

French Onion Soup

Though this French Onion Soup was one of the better French Onion Soups I had in recent memory it could have been better still. I found the potion size was a little small to its price which was a light much (about the cost of a nice meal is some restaurants), yet it did have the customary slice of bread soaking in the broth underneath the melted cheese. Personally I also prefer that there be cubed pieces of bread in the soup as well and I thought the flavor of the both to be oddly off. It had a seasoning I could not determine, one that I didn’t find all together agreeable.

Razz's Chicken Scaloppini

Razz describes this dish as “layered chicken breast with cheese, mushrooms-lime sauce, spaetzel”. When the waiter served me my meal I thought it was picture perfect in its presentation. The spaetzel laid the foundation with the chicken layered on top after a generous amount of cheese had been melted on it. Next to the chicken was a decorative bundle of vegetable tied together with a scallion. The chicken itself was moist and well-seasoned. The spaetzel were well made and nicely flavored with the mushroom-lime sauce, but I found the vegetables to be under done to the point that it was too difficult to break apart with my knife.

Triple Chocolate Torte

Highly presentable with its multi-layering of thinly filled chocolate, plated on a white plate with a sweet berry coulis in a hatching pattern, dotted with blackberries and blueberries. These displays are often common in restaurants with a hefty price tags on their entrées, but seldom is the gastronomic desire satisfied by the dessert presentation and so I was disappointed to find the cake very dry, yet I was not at all surprised.
